Chief executive Andy Duncan defended his decision to keep the show on air saying the issues raised by contestant Jade Goody's treatment of Bollywood movie star Shilpa Shetty were "unquestionably a good thing". There is mounting pressure from MPs and viewers to cancel the reality show which has already caused the Government huge embarrassment on Gordon Brown's visit to India.
